What we all need is a weekend, a day, or an hour away. Whether it be to walk outside, journal our thoughts, or sit and enjoy the day. Enjoy life by ourselves. We need this time away from the hectic lives we run in order to make sure we are always up to par. Time to breathe, time to reflect. It can help to rejuvenate, refresh, and reinvigorate us to “keep on keeping on”, as the saying goes. Thing is, though, this pressing need can easily be pushed away for more “pressing” or “important” matters. It can be mocked as something “silly” and “childish”, especially as we grow older. But in reality, it’s the most real, most mature thing that we could ever have. It’s the best thing we can do for ourselves and others, cause if we’re not happy, if we’re not 100% there for us, how can we be 100% there for those we love? For everyone else? If we really stop to think about it, how many times do we actually have a chance or how many times do we take time to focus on us? Everything about us? Most people would say not much, if at all. So an hour, a few minutes, a few seconds, could help us in ways we have yet to understand. Reevaluating who we are, what our lives mean, and who we want to become can be inspiring and powerful. Maybe with this knowledge, with these 5, 10, 15 minutes, or even an hour or two, will be our most well spent time yet.
